When my daughter told me she was pregnant, she said it in such a way that she thought she could trick me. When I got angry, I mean really angry, she. confessed and said yes she really was expecting.
I was angry for a while, I wanted more for her than to be a single unwed mother. But then I saw how she matured as her belly grew and grew she sooo loved her little baby and tried very hard to clean up her act and live healthy you for his sake!!
When she found out her little one was going to be a boy, she got so very very happy! She immediately named him Mateo and for many months, we called him Mateo. Was just a name she had hear on a tv show, Jane the virgin, I think.
We both were getting so excited, as was Cristian, the baby's father.
As the time got closer, she started having more and more back pains as well as belly pains. It got to a point sometimes that she couldn't even walk due to the pain. I'd always tell her better safe than sorry, so she'd go in to be checked out. The doctors told her to rest and keep hydrated. She apparently wasn't she drinking enough water.
3 weeks before her due date, Carly, my daughter, started going into labor. She was one centimeter, I remember her telling me, but the docs were able to stop the contractions for another week. Carly's water broke and we rushed to the hospital. She went by ambulance and I took an über. I arrived before Cristian, I think he was working or something, but Carly was already having major contractions. All in all I think she was in labor for 4 or 5 hours and pushed for no more than 30-40 minutes. A family friend was there with as a baby Benjamin was born. Beautiful!! Gorgeous head of hair!! Then huge eyes and tiny tiny nose!! He was dark like his daddy, and his daddy was there to cut the umbilical chord. The whole thing was sooo beautiful. I cried and cried out of sheer happiness!!! My very first grandson was born.
